I wanted a somewhat "sport chic" watch and I hesitated for a long time for this SLGH017. My heart was torn between this one and the White Birch 2021 and 2022. Finally, when I tried all three at the Place Vendôme boutique, it was the Night Birch that won my favor, hands down! Its dark dial is as detailed as the White Birch 2021 and is impressive, a treat to admire. Its hi beat 36000 movement is excellent and the fact that it is full Titanium also played a big part. I highly recommend the pieces from the Evolution 9 range. In addition, the experience in the Place Vendôme boutique is exceptional.

I was first struck by the exceptional dial of this watch, with such lively and contrasting colors, then by the always exemplary finishes as only Grand Seiko knows how to do them. A clinical execution of the alternations of polishing between the elements of the dial, which then continues on the facets of this new "evolution 9" case.
With this anniversary watch limited to 1000 pieces, Grand Seiko introduces its new movement with free balance-spring, a double impulse escapement, and a complete balance bridge to give this piece improved robustness and precision.
