After 3 years of wearing my GA2100 (1st model called "Casioak") that I still appreciate today, it was a nice surprise to see Casio present a version with the same design, with the functions that in my opinion were always missing from the first generation: Bluetooth and the solar module. Another difference, the dial is now sunray, a plus. I chose this yellow model, which seemed too flashy to me at first, but which over time has become my favorite version. This one is also the most readable offered thanks to the clearer indexes associated with the positive screen, which confirmed my decision. The blue and red writing with the yellow needle on the dial are small details that ultimately bring a lot to the dial. It is very comfortable to wear and very light thanks to the carbon chassis, the proportions are great (unlike some much larger g-shock models with which I still have difficulty) and the features are sufficient for my use. A cool watch to wear on vacation in summer.

A superb evolution

I have had this watch for a year and a half. For a while it was the only watch left in my collection, because it represented what I expected from an everyday watch: discreet due to its rather contained diameter of 39mm, thin (which always dissuaded me from buying a Black Bay 41 which was much too thick in my opinion for a 3-hand watch), waterproof, precise, goes everywhere... it ticked all the boxes of the perfect watch. Even today, I would have a hard time finding a fault with it... apart from perhaps the absence of the famous T-fit on its steel bracelet. In any case, I recently put a leather strap on it and I think it will stay that way for a while. I chose a black one because I like the vintage look brought by the gilt and the color of the indexes, as well as the red marker on the bezel, taken from the model of the time.

A perfect “everyday watch”

I have had this watch for a month now, and I am still in love with it every time I put it on my wrist. In a few words, what made me fall for it: the exemplary finishes of the case, the ceramic bezel matching the ceramic dial reflect a different shade of blue at every moment of the day, we never get tired of it... the bracelet, although often criticized, is in my opinion part of the identity of these Diver 300M (as is the helium valve by the way), we like it or not, I love it. It's good to see something other than the 3-link bracelets that we find on the majority of steel bracelets... the finishes are also impeccable, and the micro-adjustment system does its job perfectly. This time again, because of its bracelet and its 42mm diameter, it is better not to have a chicken wrist, moreover this watch is not forgotten on the wrist due to its fairly significant weight. The only small criticism I could make of it is the feeling when turning the bezel which could be a bit more pleasant. Nothing prohibitive for me (given the rare times I use it anyway). In terms of movement, nothing to report, this is my second Omega and I now think we can trust them in this area, precision and robustness are there. It is also always a pleasure to be able to admire this one through the sapphire crystal back although I spend much less time looking at it than the 8900 which equips my other watch and which is in my opinion a little more beautiful to look at. In short, it has been a month since it took first place in terms of time spent on my wrist and I am afraid that will not change anytime soon!

A well-deserved reputation

Every excuse is good when it comes to buying a new watch. My 25th birthday was a good opportunity to treat myself while marking my quarter century of existence. Why this model? I like to be able to wear my watches whenever I want, on any occasion, in shorts at the beach, as in an evening suit... so I needed a watch that could do everything, waterproof, robust, discreet, precise... I think that this version of the Seamaster Aquaterra with small seconds ticks all these boxes. I didn't hesitate for long once I put it on my wrist in the store. In my opinion, the small seconds underlines the elegant side of the model, without overdoing it and keeping the general "sport chic" spirit. I find it perfect on my wrist (19cm). Be careful with small wrists, especially since with this light dial it can tend to appear larger.

My first G-Shock. It was a gift from my partner, so it has a special place in my collection. It's always nice to receive a watch, especially when there was a little risk taken (the watch is still all red, personally I love it) 

This G-Shock is pleasant to wear because of its lightness and exudes solidity. 

Usually I find them rather versatile, it's the watch that you can wear when you don't know which one to take. This one is a little less so with its bracelet, dial and case all red. On the contrary, it lights up the wrist with its flamboyant color.

A colorful toolwatch

Iconic all-terrain watch, with a range of choices in terms of shapes and colors. I chose this model precisely on these criteria. The precision is great. The brightness in the dark is a little behind but its readability in broad daylight is great. You quickly get used to its use.

Effective

With its little name Casiok (in reference to the octagonal shape of its case), and its code name GA-2100, this version of the G-Shock is for me the most interesting. It combines the look of a modern watch (dual display by hands and digital) with the legendary robustness of the model and features (alarm, chrono, worldtimer, etc.) which reminds me of my first quartz watches in the 80s. Moreover, during the initial settings or when calling upon specific functions, we fall back into childhood a little by frantically pressing the buttons with very precise sequences, we start again several times before getting there (the new versions are in Bluetooth with an application on the smartphone to facilitate the settings). I have 3 versions, one of which I made a mod on the bracelet and the bezel in order to have a full black in black PVD with the most beautiful effect and which attracts the eye of connoisseurs. It's truly the all-terrain, all-occasion watch, so treat yourself!

Casiok or not Casio - GA-2100

An octagonal G-Shock model with all the usual functions, but with a "manga" treatment on the dial, as well as on the case and strap. In my opinion, it's this overall treatment that makes this model so appealing; decorating only the dial would have been much less interesting. The result is very nice in real life. It's a good compromise: the overprints found throughout add a quirky and fun touch, but the watch isn't extravagant.

It's coherent and very readable.

This edition existed (because it quickly sold out on the CASIO website) in two colors: this blue and a more sober white. Even if it's a throwback to the comic book, I preferred this more playful pop blue. I don't think you could have chosen both colors.

On the dial, the indexes are raised, which creates a sense of depth and three-dimensionality. The most amusing detail is the comic book bubble-shaped day of the week timer.
I regret that the light for the small seconds and date subdial doesn't come from the dial itself, but is located between the 4 and 5 o'clock markers. I'm nitpicking, but it would have been more logical to position the Light button there rather than at the top right.

The case size is perfectly reasonable; the watch weighs only 50 grams. The absence of a crown at 3 o'clock and the fact that the part in contact with the hand is not rounded, but one side of the octagon, make it extremely comfortable to wear. On the back of the case, we find the onomatopoeia "DON," which means "BOOM!" in Japanese. The strap is fully decorated and particularly supple, and is equipped with quick-release fasteners.

This watch is made in Japan, which isn't usually the case for models in this series, and at this price point. And it costs only 30 euros more than its classic counterparts.

MANGA

A watch I acquired a few years ago, among the first G-SHOCK in steel. Dual display analog and liquid crystal, with many features, world time, alarm, date, chronograph, countdown... watch that I gave to my father about ten years ago. It's his tool watch. It still works perfectly. It reminds me of the Speedmaster X1 model from OMEGA.
