A very attractive model that obviously retains the qualities of the G-SHOCK, which I won't repeat.
Very comfortable on the wrist, compact size, and original finish. With its cut-out lines, it remains discreet. I would have liked a solar-powered version. The case back is engraved, and the surprise when illuminated is a red origami design.

Seiko 5 - SRPM 07 - Pink Panther - 38 mm - automatic
I used to think cartoon/manga collaborations were childish for a watch—Snoopy, Popeye, Tintin, even Goldorak...but then I changed my mind after discovering the Pink Panther. Now I just had to buy it, and that was a different story. Sold out everywhere. On February 10th, I checked the Louis Pion website—it was available! Click, add to cart, credit card, Chronopost, and on the 13th, it was waiting for me in the store, much to the dismay of the friendly sales assistants at the Galeries Lafayette counter in Toulouse. They explained that many people were waiting. All I had to do was click; there was still one left in stock. In short (!), a super object of desire, the pink dial with the fingerprints is amazing, the bezel with pink inserts is amazing, the case back is amazing... I could criticize some things, but when you buy this style of watch you know what to expect, otherwise you move on. 5 is its number, thank you Seiko for this beautiful fantasy.

A 5 or nothing!

Hamilton Khaki Field Murph, 38 mm, steel bracelet.

I really loved Interstellar...and when Hamilton released its "spin-off," I thought, I have to have it. The only drawbacks were the 42 mm size, the leather strap (which I really didn't like), and the cathedral hands. I wanted a 39 mm with a steel bracelet. I waited and only took the plunge this month. I love it for what it represents, but objectively speaking, I'm still disappointed. The bracelet looks cheap, and the buckle is too big for the watch's diameter. The legibility isn't great, and the crystal has very little anti-reflective coating. On the other hand, the Powermatic 80 movement is excellent, and the hands (the Empire State Building for the minutes and a snake's head for the hours...that's my interpretation) are very pretty...still, €1075.

I find it expensive for what it offers. But I loved Interstellar, so...

I idealized him too much...

Kuoe Kyoto, Old Smith bronze, 38mm, automatic, made in Japan.

I'd been eyeing them since a trip to Japan but hadn't been won over because of the 35mm models usually on offer. Looking for a Christmas gift to myself, I took another look at this brand. Bingo! Three retailers in France, including one in Toulouse! I was able to go to a store, avoiding the uncertainties of online ordering, to see the one I liked and which was actually available. And there...it was love at first sight. Even prettier than in the photos. Perfect size, textured brown dial, applied numerals, Luminova, no date, screw-down crown, khaki NATO strap, a bronze case that will develop a patina over time, and a Seiko NH38 caliber...I was completely charmed. The only downsides are the yellow PVD metal buckle and the price increase in the last year. Elegant and understated, it's a truly great buy and a crowd-pleaser.

An original alternative to the others...

Tissot PRX digital, 40 mm. I bought it about ten days ago and almost left a review immediately. That would have been a mistake, given the initial rush. The quartz movement/price ratio seemed unfair, especially since the functions are so basic! But then, as the days went by, the perceived quality, the comfort, and its certain elegance made me change my mind...or almost. Why PRX? Is the brand solid enough to create a different design and name? Given the success of the original model, I understand the continuation. This model is just as heavy as the automatic version. The readability is good. An important detail: the discount applied at the time of purchase. I wouldn't have bought it at full price. A good buy nonetheless.

What can I say...Given the "thickness" of the Citizen group, they can afford to release models like this.

In the morning, don't want to wind an automatic? It's always available; it's comfortable.
The only downside is the small size of the date/day window, which isn't very legible. No big deal.

A gem this G-shock DW-5900-1 with its unique retro digital style that hits the mark, this model was reissued in 2018 on the occasion of the brand's 35th anniversary.

For the record, the DW-5900 was originally launched in 1990 and is also known as "3-Eyed" and "Walter" (as worn by John Goodman's character in "The Big Lebowski") I am a FAN. This was the first G-Shock with the three-eyed LCD design that would make its way onto the iconic and durable DW-6900 but not only that, in fact it was also used in space and notably on the wrist of astronauts during missions on the International Space Station and yes there is not only the SpeedMaster.

I just bought it in February 2025. I find it really cool and visually fun probably thanks to its embossed dial and its nice depth... I feel like I went back 30 years to my teenage years, it makes me smile and brings back very good memories.

Technically the model offers shock resistance, water resistance of 200 meters, world time (48 cities), a 1/100 second stopwatch (60 minutes in total with splitting), a countdown timer (24 hours), 5 alarms with 1 snooze alarm, an EL backlight with afterglow (1.5/3 seconds) and an estimated battery life of 5 years.

Walter's watch, but not only that...

Gshock 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Watch. This robust and discreet watch follows me daily to work (sports instructor). From an aesthetic point of view it is perfect. The matte black color, the rectangular case, the bracelet engraved with the iconic model references and the simple and functional LCD screen. From a practical point of view, the button at the top left is more difficult than the others to use and requires a little time to adapt. The modes are practical even if the timer modification is only done towards the +, which is really not pleasant when you just want to decrease it by one or two minutes. 

Finally, I recommend this watch or all associated models. Whether for the design or the features.

G-Shock Classic

I received this yellow Casio G-Shock as a gift during my vacation, and it quickly became much more than just a watch: it is my adventure partner. Whether for canoeing, jet skiing, fishing, or my intense sports sessions, it accompanies me everywhere, without ever failing. Its robustness is amazing: it has taken all the shocks without showing the slightest sign of weakness. I have even found myself underwater several times with it, and its waterproofness is impeccable. It's simple, I have never had to worry, it holds up in all situations.

Here is my Casio G-Shock reference DW-H5600MB-2ER. A smartwatch to track my sports activities yes! But not to the detriment of my watchmaking passion!

So I started to learn about the different smartwatches on the market and their features. Of course, if we think only in terms of technical characteristics offered by other specialized watch brands, this G-Shock is not the model with the best value for money.

However, I found these same models devoid of soul.

That's why when I came across this watch whose famous design is specific to the brand, the link between watchmaking and functionality appeared. This watch mainly allows the measurement of time, distance, speed and running pace, average and proportional heart rate, sleep quality, and display of mobile notifications. The data can then be viewed on the CASIO application and can also be coupled with Strava.
