I present to you my Seiko 5 sport FIFTY FIVE FATHOMS...which I find goes everywhere with the look of a diver, the robustness of a sportswoman, the Seiko SNZH55K1 also known by its nickname of "Fifty Five Fathoms" for the homage to the Blancpain timepiece, is a versatile piece that can be worn on multiple occasions...Belonging to the "Best Sellers" category of the "Five" subsidiary of Seiko, the SNZH55K1 has a unidirectional bezel matching the Black & White dial of the watch.
As for the hands and indexes, they are treated with Lumibrite, a non-radioactive and luminescent component, making the time readable in all circumstances. On the back, there is a transparent caseback, allowing the wearer of the timepiece to observe the caliber 7S36B in action.
The Seiko manufacture movement is equipped with 23 jewels, benefiting from 40 hours of power reserve.

At three o'clock, there is a date and day complication, adjustable via the crown also located at three o'clock. The whole thing is protected by a "Hardlex" tempered mineral glass, a specialty at Seiko.

I already really like Seiko 5s and this color of the bezel and dial immediately hooked me...it has a diameter of 42mm and its price is 300 euros...it is not a diver like the SKX...the watch comes with a Seiko Milanese mesh bracelet.

The case back is distinguished by the historic YEMA coat of arms, struck with a hydraulic press with a polished/brushed effect in relief. I present to you my Citizen Promaster NY0040-17LE Automatic Watch…I really like this Japanese diving watch, a watch that is solid and that I find aesthetic, it is often compared to the Skx from Seiko, my Citizen Promaster has a diameter of 42mm…and a mineral glass which is the only flaw that I find with a sapphire glass it would have had a perfect score for its price which is 230 euros. I admit that I have a weakness for Japanese watches, and French watches from the Yema and Lip brands.

I chose this watch for several reasons: its price, its original and recognizable look, its diving capabilities and its military heritage. And it meets all the criteria and accompanies me absolutely everywhere! On a daily basis on a nato or in sports activities on its rubber!

The best alternative to the Seiko SKX

I had become interested in this model after reading that it had been used by the divers of the Marina Militare in the 90s.
As for the look, I really like the almond green on the indexes and hands, as well as the little touch of red on the dial. In addition, the mirror finish of the hands and the index rim give a very nice changing look.
It is very comfortable thanks to its rounded case and the position of its crown at 8 o'clock.
Its luminescence is generous and persistent enough to allow me to read the time on my nightstand until morning.
As for the movement, mine (purchased in June 2022) has a stop-seconds and its drift is very good for an automatic watch of this price, around +6 seconds per day on average.
Finally, the bezel, insert, flange and dial are very well aligned, as are the hour and minute hands when it is noon.
