Cartier Santos Owner Review : Balanced, singular and iconic

This watch is particularly dear to me because it was a gift from my parents for graduating with a law degree after eight years of study. My parents wanted to give me a Cartier, a symbol of French luxury. Initially, the Tank model was their choice, but the Santos quickly won them over, especially because of its iconic steel bracelet and sportier look. Choosing the dial wasn't easy, but green ultimately became the obvious choice. Since I was interested in other vintage Cartier models, which almost always have a white dial, this color was immediately ruled out for the Santos, in order to have a watch that truly stood out. I acquired it in July 2024, and I wear it on various occasions, both formal and casual, although I think the sporty side tends to be more prominent. The green crocodile strap (which came with the watch) gives it a much more elegant appearance. Both bracelets are very comfortable. I prefer the steel one, which I think accentuates the watch's iconic character while remaining versatile. The quick-change system is extremely practical and easy to use—well done, Cartier! The dial plays beautifully with light, shifting from black to brown to a deep green. Overall, it remains quite deep and dark. This can be a little disorienting at first. Photographing it isn't always easy either. Ultimately, it's a watch I'm very proud of, very attached to, and one that I hope will accompany me through the most important moments of my life!
