This Cupillard Riem, a manufacturer founded in 1959 in Franche-Comté, branded Incabloc Automatic, embodies a page of French watchmaking history (Richard Mille was said to have been sales director there in the 1980s). Worn by my father until his death in 2003, it returned to me in 2023. After twenty years of silence, a simple movement woke it up. Overhauled, it works like the first day. Being in search of a second watch very different from my current one, my choice turned towards this Avenger Seawolf with a strong character, a military-style adventurer with its numbers reminiscent of those stenciled on aircraft carriers in particular. Its look immediately hooked me, the Breitling DNA is very marked on this model, typography of the numbers, titanium case, bezel with riders, winged logo, I really like its second hand with the touch of red which adds a touch of color to this set of blacks and grays. On the wrist, this watch gives off an impression of robustness, a unique look that does not leave you indifferent, its thickness may have something to do with it (waterproof to 3000m the beast) but it fits rather well on my 17 wrist I think.
