Blancpain Léman Flyback Owner Review : Refined, attractive and confidential

This watch had an impact on me during a trip to Switzerland 20 years ago. I rediscovered it 2-3 years ago, while looking at the Zenith Chronomasters from the same period, which I adore. Both watches are versatile, with excellent finishes. The dial may seem heavy to some, but for me, it adds a "sporty" touch to the yellow gold case. A difference in finish delineates the imposing (luminescent) Arabic numerals; the chronograph counters are circled, the sword-shaped hands are very fat, and the second hand is red-tipped. It's excellent to read despite its compact 38 mm diameter. The case sits perfectly on the wrist, and the different levels of the bezel, which bothered me at the time, ultimately give it a dated charm... or is it my forties that have changed my tastes? The screw-down crown and pushers add character and offer 100 meters of water resistance. With its age and the leather strap (black, brown, or suede), I don't subject it to swimming. But I love it so much that I wear it very regularly. Blancpain is lagging behind these days. The Fifty Fanthoms collection is excellent for visibility, but the collections lack freshness. A shame for a historic brand that has the clout of a major group. I love it for its beauty, its versatility, its refinement, the Blancpain aura, and its gold case, which gives it a real boost. The negatives remain the fragility of the material, which is sensitive to shocks and scratches, and the difficulty I had finding a nice model.
