The must-have Macro Loupe for all watch lovers

I got this watch for my 18th birthday, at a time when I was seriously hesitating between a Tudor. After almost two years on the wrist, I can say without hesitation that I absolutely don't regret my choice.

I got it in 40 mm, a size I find perfect for my 16 cm wrist: it has a real presence without ever seeming too bulky. The 49.7 mm lug-to-lug could have made me hesitate at first, but when worn, it fits perfectly.

What convinced me was above all the technical specifications: grade 5 titanium case (much more scratch-resistant than grade 2), COSC chronometer certification, a comfortable 72-hour power reserve, water resistance to 100 meters, and a featherweight of only 93 g. The 12.2 mm thickness also contributes to this everyday comfort.

The dial is legible and balanced, with a beautiful Super-LumiNova coating that works wonderfully in the dark. Titanium also has the significant advantage of being more discreet than steel: on the streets of Paris, I wear it without any apprehension; it remains understated yet very elegant.

The more I wear it, the more I realize how perfectly balanced it is. It meets all the criteria I was looking for, with a true consistency between design, proportions, and functionality.

I actually don't think I'll ever part with it, as it holds quite a symbolic value for me. It's my 18th birthday watch, and even if you might be tempted to upgrade your collection by selling certain pieces, it will remain a solid and sentimental foundation. I don't know if any of you have already sold your 18th birthday watch to expand your collection, but in my case, I find it's a piece you'll happily keep because it's so well-made.

For a first real watch, I'm really delighted. At the time, I didn't have a lot of watchmaking knowledge, but even today, with a more discerning eye, I would make the same choice without hesitation.

Solid, light, symbolic

I fell for the Baltic Hermétique Tourer because I was looking for a slim, versatile watch for everyday wear—a real tool watch! Its 37mm case is perfect for my 16cm wrist, and that's what appealed to me from the start.

After more than a year of wearing it regularly, I'm generally very satisfied with it. It has incredible charm, a timeless look, and for the price, it's hard to beat. But there's one thing that bothers me on a daily basis: the crown. It's very discreet, integrated into the case, which is aesthetically superb... but in use, it's downright cumbersome. When the watch stops and needs to be wound, I have trouble reaching for it—my fingers are probably too short or my nails aren't long enough, but every time, it takes me ages, to the point that I've sometimes thought about selling it just for that.

Another small complaint: Baltic only offers one size M strap, which is unfortunately a little big for me. The end of the strap always sticks out, and it's not very elegant.

Despite these details, this is still a watch I really like and recommend for its style, size, and excellent value for money. I just hope Baltic will consider a few adjustments for future versions!

Baltic has achieved the feat of making a watch that is truly wearable in all situations.
It is first of all elegant, discreet, with its military / explorer inspiration. Worn with a leather strap, it will look very dressy. On a steel or fabric, it will look like a field watch.
But the feat is not only on the aesthetics, it is also on the excellent specifications despite a very flat case:
- water-resistance up to 15 bars
- very robust Miyota movement
- recessed crown, therefore very well protected (almost equivalent to a screwed one)
- sapphire crystal
- splendid luminescence that lasts honorably a good part of the night
- very precise watch (+3sec / day), because very well adjusted by Baltic

The 37mm case actually has quite a bit of presence, especially since the lugs are long (a little too much for my taste, even).

I paired it with a Bonklip bracelet (from Joseph Bonnie), because it's a watch that I never take off: work, DIY, sports, swimming...
It's the perfect combination. Its flat profile means that it still hasn't taken a real hit, glass and case intact, despite intense activity.

Frankly, the only mixed points in my opinion are the bracelets provided: the plastic one is a little too firm and moderately comfortable, the metal (rice grains) is beautiful, but a little too heavy for the watch and not very comfortable if your wrist swells and deflates a lot during the day (no fine adjustment without a tool).

Concerning the crown, don't worry: it took me a while to figure it out, but it's actually very easy to handle once you get the hang of it. Just pinch it between your nails, case vertical.

The ultimate all-purpose watch

After all the neo vintage collections released by Baltic, I finally fell for one of their watches.

My review is done in the heat of the moment (I've been wearing it for two weeks). So I'm going to describe my first feelings. It's not impossible that I'll complete my review after several months of use.

Before buying it, I took the time to go to the Baltic showroom in Paris. I recommend it, the welcome is relaxed and the appointment is quick.

It's not easy when you have four colors to choose from. I was very happy to see them in real life.
For me, the color to put aside is the Green. I didn't like the color offered.
The Blue is very classic but not uninteresting. It enhances the polished rim of the dial more than the other models.
The Brown is very beautiful, especially when exposed to direct sunlight. This is the color of 2023.
Beige brings a very nice visibility and freshness that I was missing in my collection.

What I like most about this watch:
- The dial and its indexes. Indeed, the railway is magnificent with this polished rim. The indexes are beautiful, textured and very bright in the dark (well decorated in blue Luminova on my model).

- The font on the dial is fine, readable and sober as I like.

- The case without a crown. This type of watch is ultimately rare. This discreet crown gives it a certain singularity that allows me to diversify my Tool Watch collection.

- The Miyota caliber is super precise. Set within COSC tolerances. FYI, you receive the time grapher results for your watch (+5 for mine) in the box. I am between +4 and +5 seconds per day on average.
-Its finesse makes it versatile and even elegant when equipped with a leather or metal strap.

What you need to know:
Baltic is probably very aware of the difficulty of winding the watch with the crown. The choice of caliber was not chosen by chance. Indeed, you only need to wear the watch for 10 to 15 minutes on your wrist to start it and then adjust it. This is the advice I received at the Showroom.
The Miyota 9039 caliber winds very well with the movements of the wrist without needing to use the crown.

Finally, I will not talk about value for money (Xavier is pleased) but more about pleasure price. I find that for the price I have great emotions while preserving my wallet.

The Toolwatch in all its finesse!!!!

Luminova, colorful, all round. This hermetic was a hit and these 3 points are answers to this success.
I took the green version, I hesitated with the blue one. The green one has a green luminova working very well. The watch is 37.5mm and has a Miyota series 9 (like many Miyota), the crown is the most critical point, being embedded in the case. One might think that the watch is difficult to wind. Indeed it is, but no need to wind it. A reset to the time, and wearing it on the wrist does the rest without winding the watch with the crown.

A little candy

Received as a birthday present a year ago, I still love my Baltic Hermétique!
I love its look, which I find both very retro, very field watch from the 1940s and at the same time very current with its very trendy green color from the 2020s!
Another advantage of this watch: its Myota series 9000 mechanism. It is a real tractor, robust and repairable. In addition, it is a 4 hertz movement, which makes the second (almost) slippery, which was one of my purchase criteria!

The Baltic Hermétique: so retro and so current

The hermetic, new release from Baltic, still Retro inspiration, but as always, they do it well.
Released in four colors, I hesitated for a long time and finally you know which one I chose.
I really like this polished rim under the indexes, it is thin and brings reflections of light to this pretty green background. The indexes have a crazy luminescence. Nice syringe hands and lollipop minutes, it checks a lot of boxes.
I chose a flat link bracelet that totally changes its look.
She wants to be adventurous? What better way to put her in a situation with her pleasant FKM tropic.
She did her job, I validate even if I am not a big fan of her marketing.
A fine watch that goes everywhere, I love it.


Baltic Jungle

This watch is truly the archetype of the tool watch, while being relatively elegant. The particularity of this model is its extremely discreet crown, which fits very well into the case. I really like the finesse of the latter, as well as the readability of the numbers and indexes. The glass highlights the dial. The bracelet is very comfortable to wear.

Green class!

A bit of a mixed review about this watch. 
Having been seduced in advance by the magnificent Instagram photos + rave reviews from the YouTube community, I took the plunge. First impression after unpacking the color of the dial is not as deep as that. Here a rather khaki green. A little disappointment. The flat link bracelet is correct yes, quite comfortable yes, but not as sparkling as promised. I also warn future buyers of this reference that the crown integrated into the case does not allow easy winding of the mechanism. It's even a bit of a hassle! Otherwise, to pull the crown and set the time, no problem. The finishes of the case are there, and for its weight which is quite light, it's fine.
