A charming little British girl
British watches are rare in vintage. This one is an ASTRAL Super automatic from the 60s. ASTRAL was the high-end brand of the well-known watch manufacturer SMITHS Watches. The movements were of good quality and the finishes were more careful. One of the particularities of this watch is its very thin case: 8.8 mm, including glass. This was unusual for an automatic of this period. The dial is very typical 60s and there is a date roulette. The movement is very reliable, because I have had it for almost 40 years and it is still accurate despite the total absence of revision. This is a little-known brand (although a few pieces are sometimes for sale) that deserves attention.
