With the dawning light, the darkness will come to an end.

This watch has a rather substantial case; it's a 1083 in chromed brass. The case back indicates that the watch is shockproof and water-resistant, and it's equipped with an anti-magnetic shield. The dial features a color gradient from black at the top to electric blue at the bottom. The hour markers are faceted 3D brass-colored, which makes them stand out, as do the hands. The case is 40mm in diameter including the crown and 12mm thick. The lug width is 20mm, unlike many Soviet-era cases which are 18mm. The movement is a Penza 2009.1 with 17 jewels. Since the dial is in shades of blue, I fitted it with a "Routine-1083" collaboration strap. It's a French strap made from denim scraps from the renowned manufacturer in Romans-sur-Isère. I chose it for the color, but I find it amusing to put a 1083 (referring to the 1083 km² of French territory) on a Soviet-era case that is itself called 1083. Incidentally, Routine and 1083 are two small companies striving to produce "Made in France" goods in a challenging time and deserve our support. Unfortunately, Routine had to close down, and 1083 is fighting every day to continue manufacturing textiles in France. Overall, the strength of this watch lies in its excellent legibility, combined with the mysterious quality of the dial; you can't tell where the blue begins and the black ends in this gradient. The soundtrack to listen to would be "The Sun Will Rise" by DDT (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we68_JULY3c), because this gradient, combined with the brand name which means dawn in Russian, suggests that darkness is not eternal; dawn heralds the sunrise.
