I much prefer it on its rubber strap, which enhances its sporty, rugged look and suits it particularly well. The original steel bracelet appeals to me less, as I find it too shiny.

Even though it's the second watch in my collection, it's truly the one that introduced me to the world of watchmaking and sparked my passion.

As an aviation enthusiast, I was immediately drawn to its design, inspired by cockpit instruments: a square case, a black dial, excellent legibility, and no frills. Its black ceramic case further enhances its technical, robust, and distinctive character, giving it an instantly recognizable identity.

With my 17 cm wrist, its 42 mm diameter and especially its square case are still quite imposing, which is why I don't wear it very often these days.

But it holds a special sentimental value. I could hardly part with it.



Bell & Ross Br 03-92 Black Matte

In 2021, I chose this Tudor for its sporty spirit, with its successful blend of the Black Bay dive watch aesthetic and chronograph features.

I particularly like its highly legible black dial, its steel bezel, and its robust look, which give it plenty of character without being ostentatious. The chronograph and date functions also make it a complete and functional timepiece.

Purchased without any particular occasion, simply on a whim, this GMT-Master II is, for me, a rugged, versatile, and extremely comfortable watch.

I particularly love its black and blue bezel, which gives it character while remaining discreet enough to be worn in any situation.

It's a watch you can take everywhere, whether traveling or for everyday wear, with a real sense of robustness and quality.

Ultimately, it's quite simple: I find it hard to find a fault with it. It does everything well, without ever overdoing it.

Rolex GMT master 2 

Serica 6190 California — acquired in December 2024

I am particularly fond of Serica and its philosophy. I love this young French brand for its independent approach to watchmaking: offering watches with a true identity, designed to be worn and used, without seeking to display status or a prestigious logo.

This 6190 California perfectly embodies what I appreciate about Serica. Its California dial, blending Roman and Arabic numerals, immediately gives it a very strong personality, while maintaining excellent legibility and a true tool watch feel.

Being left-handed, I also chose this version with the crown positioned at 9 o'clock. It's an interesting detail. Beyond comfort, it further reinforces the atypical and personal character of this watch.

I also greatly appreciate its restrained proportions of 37.7 mm, its clean design, and its very distinctive metal bracelet. It's a compact, robust watch that is extremely comfortable to wear every day.

What I love most about it is that it's unlike any other. It has a strong identity without being ostentatious. A watch for enthusiasts, discreet to those unfamiliar with it, but immediately captivating to anyone interested in watchmaking.

A brand I'm a true fan of, and probably one of the watchmaking philosophies that resonates with me most.

Serica 6190 California

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 — acquired for my 45th birthday

This Oyster Perpetual represents, for me, the essence of Rolex's simplest and most effective designs. No superfluous complications, no date display, excellent legibility, and a watch that can be worn in any situation, whether with a casual or formal outfit.

I specifically chose this version for its green dial, an iconic Rolex color, both original and timeless. Combined with the steel case and the Oyster Perpetual's clean lines, it adds just the right touch of personality to an otherwise understated timepiece.

But my choice is primarily linked to a special memory: my best friend and I bought the same watch to mark our 45th birthdays. Beyond the watch itself, it symbolizes a long friendship and a moment we wanted to celebrate together.

A simple, robust, and versatile Rolex, made to be worn without a second thought. Probably one of the easiest watches to live with in my collection.

I had been wanting a YEMA for some time, and then I chose this model with its immaculate dial background and its superb shark bracelet.
It is equipped with the YEMA 2000 4hz manufacture movement with 42 hours of power reserve, protected by a double-domed sapphire and has a diameter of 41mm
It also exists in 39 mm.
As for precision and comfort, I will get back to you in a few weeks...

Ma Superman 

The Superman 500 black dial cream indexes is a watch with a discreet and timeless charm. It has almost everything of an old Submariner, vintage as desired, but with 500m of resistance. The second hand and the crown lock characteristic of Yema give an immediately recognizable identity to this watch. Sporty certainly, it is elegant on its steel bracelet, and I think that it only needs a small alligator strap to be almost an ideal dress watch (beige alligator, black stitching, or the other way around?). The finishes are excellent. It is nice to see that historic brands are returning to the forefront of the watchmaking scene and who knows, could well rise again among the greatest. Yema, like Lip, are taking this path again. Cocorico, bravo!

The most perfect of French divers

YEMA Superman 500, 39 mm, "integrated" FKM Viton bracelet. In my budget, I hesitated between the Hamilton Murph 39, Hanhart Preventor, Baltic Hermétique, Tissot Chronomètre, Certina DS2...and then, newsletter from Yéma...promo - 30% on end of series. I consult and, I see this Superman 500 in several variations. I really didn't think about it. So I looked on YouTube the opinions...Very positive. It will be the 500, without date, black background and cream index in 39 rubber strap. Ordered and received. After three days (!!!) of use, I am won over. Of course, it seems to come from another era, but deep down, I had to look for that. It is magnificent. The finish with this case back, this dial...to the touch, when you turn the crown...the quality of the bracelet which has the defect of being "integrated", not my thing, so change to be expected. Really a nice watch.

This new generation superman has been improved on many technical points while keeping its characteristic DNA. The overall quality that emerges is simply excellent. The finish is really very good, the mysterious blue dial is superb and the movement works very well. And in "no date" it's the best!
