I bought this Omega Speedmaster Mark II new in a boutique in 2023. Since then, it has become one of those watches you wear without even thinking about it…and, above all, one you never tire of.

Yet, it's not my first Omega: it's now the second in my collection of four. And despite that, my Mark II has something different about it. Its design, its presence on the wrist, and its distinctive lines give it a personality I rarely find elsewhere.

With its tonneau-shaped case and noticeable weight, it certainly doesn't go unnoticed on the wrist. It has a real presence, a strong, almost imposing character…but that's precisely what makes it so charming. And despite its muscular physique, it remains an incredibly versatile watch, one that I find perfectly suited to any situation.

In my opinion, Omega has done a particularly good job of reinventing the Speedmaster Mark II, bringing it up to date while preserving the DNA and spirit of the original Mark II. It looks modern without trying to erase its history. You find that very distinctive Mark II identity, but with a more contemporary interpretation.

And then there's the dial, which I find particularly well-executed. It's rich, very complete, yet remains perfectly legible. The date window at 6 o'clock is both discreet and extremely practical, without disrupting the dial's balance. And when the light fades, the Super-LumiNova is simply stunning; my watch almost transforms, offering a magnificent nighttime presence.

I wear it very regularly, in very different circumstances, and every time I put it on my wrist, the pleasure is undiminished. Perhaps that, ultimately, is the best sign that a watch is truly made for you: after several years, the desire to wear it is still there.

My Speedmaster Mark II has that rather rare blend of character, history, and originality that makes you end up becoming far more attached to it than you ever imagined.

Three years after buying it, I still haven't tired of it. And somewhere, among my four Omega watches, it has managed to carve out its own special place.

My Mark II, an anomaly among the Speedmaster family

It is always important to talk about the passions that drive us in life, it was by talking quite naturally with a customer that I was able to acquire this watch. What a joy to have found it! Not a watch that I was necessarily looking for but that I have always appreciated for its never copied side. It is so atypical and has a heart full of history, the magnificent El Primero. Its bracelet has incredible shapes and is of unequaled comfort, this watch in general makes you forget that it is 40 years old. It is from another time I find. A UFO, which was recognized thanks to the series of the time Miami Vice. This steel version is the most complicated to find. Let us not forget that Ebel was in direct competition at the time with ROLEX and many others. The emotion is there because of the fact of having a historical watch and with its very particular DNA.

A sleek and understated watch that stands out for connoisseurs. Highly legible, with a vintage look, it pairs beautifully with a leather strap for certain occasions (for a more formal look) and also with a Milanese mesh bracelet for everyday wear (for a more casual look). The straps can be changed quickly and without tools.

I appreciate the raised numerals on the silver dial, the slimness, and the blued finish of the hands.

The frequency of the genuine 2824-2 COSC movement at 4Hz, which in my watch is accurate to within approximately +4 seconds per day, was the deciding factor in my choice.

Be careful of magnets in everyday life; otherwise, you might want to consider using a demagnetizer.

Yet another variation that plays on the impulse of a... sensible purchase.
A very attractive model that obviously retains the qualities of the G-SHOCK, which I won't repeat.
Very comfortable on the wrist, compact size, and original finish. With its cut-out lines, it remains discreet. I would have liked a solar-powered version. The case back is engraved, and the surprise when illuminated is a red origami design.

It won't bend easily!

Seiko 5 - SRPM 07 - Pink Panther - 38 mm - automatic
I used to think cartoon/manga collaborations were childish for a watch—Snoopy, Popeye, Tintin, even Goldorak...but then I changed my mind after discovering the Pink Panther. Now I just had to buy it, and that was a different story. Sold out everywhere. On February 10th, I checked the Louis Pion website—it was available! Click, add to cart, credit card, Chronopost, and on the 13th, it was waiting for me in the store, much to the dismay of the friendly sales assistants at the Galeries Lafayette counter in Toulouse. They explained that many people were waiting. All I had to do was click; there was still one left in stock. In short (!), a super object of desire, the pink dial with the fingerprints is amazing, the bezel with pink inserts is amazing, the case back is amazing... I could criticize some things, but when you buy this style of watch you know what to expect, otherwise you move on. 5 is its number, thank you Seiko for this beautiful fantasy.

A 5 or nothing!

Big fan of this Miyota that is a way more accurate than basics STP, SOPROD or SW for a lower price point. Mine is running within the COSC range after over 2 years of usage.

The tropical rubber strap feels ready for saltwater and sun, while the alternate chocolate leather brings warmth for more urban settings.

The inner rotating bezel operates smoothly, adding a touch of originality to the model. My only reservation is the red seconds hand, which I would have preferred to be a little more discreet.In my line-up — ranging from the squared boldness of a Bell & Ross to the heritage DNA of ZRC — the Rochelaise strikes a different chord. It’s not about pushing technical boundaries; it’s about wearing a slice of French history, interpreted for today. A reminder that a watch doesn’t always have to shout to be noticed — sometimes it simply whispers with charm.

For collectors who enjoy authentic stories behind their pieces, the Le Forban Rochelaise is exactly that: a tribute to French seafaring style, carrying its past into my present adventures.

Venetian Elegance

As a watch enthusiast, my Instagram feed is far more populated with watches than models in swimsuits.
And naturally, ads for neobrands like Venezianico, Spinnaker, and Baltic target me daily.
A little over a year ago, while I was in the middle of thinking about my next purchase, I received an ad for a new model from Venezianico, the Arsenale. The first thing that caught my eye: a very divisive purple Côtes de Genève dial. Original enough to make me want to click.
I discovered some great features about this watch. I like the design, the strap, and especially the thinness of the case: 8.95mm.
Unfortunately, it requires pre-ordering, and a few drawbacks put me off:
- Simple two hands without seconds
- No transparent case back
- No date
- No lume on the hands
So I figured I'd stop by the store to try it on when it became available.

At the time, I was hesitating between a Baltic MR01 and a Yema Wristmaster Traveller.
The Chinese movement and its somewhat cheap appearance put me off the former. And the thickness (or price in the case of the micro-rotor) kept me away from Yema.

Almost a year later, when I needed to go to an optician, I found myself next to the O'chrono store, the ocarat website that distributes the Venezianico brand.

I'd seen the version with the meteorite dial on my Instagram feed, but the price was holding me back. I still haven't found my new daily...
So I went to try it out of curiosity.

I try the classic two-hand watch with a blue dial. It's indeed very well finished and the thinness is superb. But the lack of a second hand is holding me back. They don't have the Meteorite in stock but suggest I try the latest version: the Platino with a hammered solid platinum dial.
I realize that not only does it have a second hand like the Meteorite, but it also has a transparent case back. It's therefore less thin (+1mm) but remains under 10mm. Listed at €1,450, it's even more expensive than the Meteorite. Too expensive for me.
But after looking on the brand's website, the watch is on sale for €1,200. Since I want to buy it in-store, I contact them to see if they'll match the price. They take my contact details and are supposed to get back to me a day or two later to confirm. Unfortunately, two days pass and no response. I decide to go to the store to get a faster response. But when I got there and wanted to show the price on the website, I realized the promotion had expired...

I couldn't bring myself to pay an extra €250 or abandon my purchase. I was stung. Fortunately, I took a screenshot of my cart that very morning with the price including the promotion. After a few exchanges with the brand, they agreed to give me the discount.

The watch arrived two months ago and I'm very happy with it. Comfortable, beautiful, but not flashy. It spent almost all summer on my wrist. I really like it.

As for the negative points, because there are always some:
- The finish of the rubber strap leaves something to be desired
- Changing the strap is a challenge because the last link is mounted too tightly, and since it's held by a screwed bar, it's very complicated to attach the rubber strap.
- Despite the screw-down crown and caseback, the advertised water resistance is only 50m. A shame for a watch that looks very summery with its rubber strap...

As for the rest, I'm not disappointed.

So my advice to the brand would be to develop a quick-release strap to facilitate changes. A micro-adjustment would be ideal, and perhaps an adaptable leather strap. Also, work on the water resistance to achieve at least 100m so there's no question about it.

A bronze version has just been released; I imagine a titanium version will be the next logical step. I can't wait to see the work of this young brand with great potential.

I have already purchased the ultra black 36mm version from Venezianico. This house surprises me with every model. I fell for this meteorite version in 40mm. It is powered by a Miyota 9039 Automatic movement. I absolutely had to have a meteorite dial in my collection because it represents the universe in the grandest sense. Each dial is unique. A real chance to have a dial that is 4.5 billion years old on my wrist. A whole poetry is then exposed to our eyes.
