This company was one of the pioneers of scheduled aviation, creating the "Flèche d'Orient" line to compete with the Orient Express. Much faster than the train, the airline crossed Europe, from Paris to Istanbul. The first airline to operate overnight commercial flights, and also the first to connect two continents with a commercial route, it became the Compagnie Internationale de Navigation Aérienne, before merging with four other French airlines to become Air France. This limited edition is based on one of the iconic designs of Tissot's heyday: the "Navigator," with its world time. Tissot occasionally reproduces this model, in limited or numbered editions, but in a much larger size than its 1951 counterpart. Among the details that distinguish this limited edition are the red accents, particularly on the names of the capitals along the route of the Flèche d'Orient: Paris, Bucharest, and Istanbul. The case back is decorated with an engraving and a print on the glass. The watch tells a beautiful, though little-known, story in a field I'm passionate about. It also features the design and complication of one of the most successful Tissot watches in history. Despite its very elegant design, its appreciable finesse, and the story it tells, I rarely wear it due to its size... 43 mm in diameter. I recommend this model, but I would wear it more if it were in the same proportions as the vintage versions, with a diameter of 36 mm. Movement: ETA 2893-3 (automatic, COSC chronometer) Material: Steel Crystal: Sapphire Case back: Sapphire
