An impulsive but sensible purchase at the start of 2026, this Timex Q Reissue faithfully recaptures the charm of vintage 70s models. Its compact 38mm case gives it a discreet presence and that touch of old-world charm, perfect for any wrist.

I wasn't too keen on the original strap, so I replaced it with a model similar to the one on the Todd Snyder version, which I prefer. The original one is still quite nice, though.

Okay, I enjoy a little comparison, so here goes: despite its affordable price, it has that "vintage collector" feel that might evoke a blend of a Rolex 1655 and an Explorer II, without ever pretending to be their equal.

A spur-of-the-moment purchase upon its release, after reading an article on Fratello Watches, this Brew, a collaboration with Teddy Baldassarre, aims above all to offer a more discreet and refined version of the original Metric, thanks to a more understated color palette. The objective is achieved: the watch gains versatility while retaining Brew's strong DNA. The 36mm case looks more like 38mm to me, largely due to its "square" shape. The thickness is adequate, nothing more.

The build quality is good, with a well-executed case and a legible, balanced dial that fully benefits from the harmonious color choices.

The only drawback, in my opinion, is the strap. Its quality is decent, but it pulls a bit on the hair, and its shape is too pronounced for my taste. I prefer tapered straps, and here it's a bit too much, slightly disrupting the overall harmony. Fortunately, the watch works very well with other straps. Here, in this case, is a Fixoflex-style bracelet on my 17.5cm wrist.

Go on, I'll say it: with its lines and color, it can create the illusion and, to some extent, evoke a Monaco… or rather, a Seamaster Jedi.

Overall, a coherent and successful collaboration, designed for those who appreciate the Metric but are looking for a more wearable, everyday version.

I've owned this Traska Summiteer 36mm for several weeks now, and I must say I've been truly surprised by its craftsmanship. It's the kind of watch you slip on without thinking... and keep on your wrist day after day.

Non-stop for two months, that never happens to me.

Size-wise, this 36mm version is perfect (in my eyes) for my 17.5mm wrist. It's thin, light, and comfortable to wear. The crown is screw-down, making it easy to operate.

The build quality is also worth mentioning. The steel case is coated with an exclusive hardened treatment that makes it ultra-resistant to scratches (1200 vikers instead of 200 for standard 316 steel), which is rare at this price. This is what I'm looking for, tired of watches that scratch for no reason!!!!!!

It's clear after a month of non-stop use: not a single scratch, the watch remains "new"!!!!!

Regarding the domed sapphire crystal, there are pros and cons. The plus for the "vintage effect" look. The minus because with a flat crystal, it would have been even thinner.

Inside, the Miyota 9039 movement does the job very well (+8 s/d).

The steel bracelet is also a pleasant surprise: fluid, well-articulated, with a micro-adjustment clasp that allows for millimeter-level adjustment. Some say it can be a little noisy or "cheap" to use, but in my case, it holds well and has never bothered me.

For around €720 including customs and VAT, we have a watch with an inspired design—and I emphasize inspiration because it's thoughtful, robust, precise, discreet, and above all, very versatile.

I truly consider it a GADA. It's simple: I decided to sell everything except my humble family watches.

And a little personal note, a bit provocative, but it seems relevant to me.

Rolex, like many of today's great watchmaking houses, started small, with modest ambitions and artisanal expertise before becoming the iconic brand we know. At the time, they were indeed a sort of "micro-brand" in the nascent world of modern watchmaking, not a luxury behemoth.

There came a time when Rolex had to prove its worth, innovate, and carve out a place for itself among the smaller players, a bit like Traska or other micro-brands today.

As a result, this puts the current price/quality ratio and prestige into perspective: it's all a question of time, growth, and storytelling—but also of technique and consistent quality.

finally find the watch that suits me

After a 4512 some time ago, I fell for the new 6190. It's automatic and Cosc.
Well, I'm a bit disappointed because, despite the look being faithful to the various images and videos I've seen online, I expected better wearer comfort and presence.
The slimness of the watch is pleasant, but I find the combination of case, bracelet, and finesse doesn't work.
Just like the 4512, in the end. I'm seriously considering selling it.

I never thought I'd buy a completely "gold" watch, so I stepped out of my comfort zone for this Edox on a whim.

Won over by the size of the case and the very luminous dial. A visit to the watchmaker for a service, and off we went again.

20 ATM without a screw-down crown at the time was pretty impressive! I also like the "water champion" slogan.

As for wearing it, aside from the gold-plated look, which may seem flashy to some, its compact 36 mm diameter combined with its 12.9 mm thick Plexiglas gives it a rather pleasant presence on the wrist.

So, on a whim, I started looking for a watch that met several criteria, namely:

a bit strange, at least on paper, and a touch of robustness for wearability without worrying about the little dents or splashes of everyday life.

Fan of the DOXA look, this 39mm model was released in 2024. I jumped on it as soon as I could financially.

why? because it's impossible for me to have 42.5mm (sub300 or sub300T) because it doesn't suit me, even if a lot of people try to say that it looks smaller once on the wrist, I can't get over the fact that a 42.5mm remains a 42.5mm. So imagine my enthusiasm when the 39mm model came out.

Since then it's been osmosis, how thin it is!!!! I measure it at 10.9mm!
I took the sharkhunter for daily wear and it suits me. The orange color of the "professional" I would bring it with a bracelet if necessary.

I'm not going to write the story of doxa here, but in terms of legitimacy there are worse things.

it goes everywhere at work, on weekends, on vacation, on the road... everywhere.

I love the format of the basic Reissue and the little details added by the collaboration are very nice, especially this dot-shaped second hand.

Bought for the superhero symbol and received the day after my daughter's birth, this watch will forever remain in my collection.

Hoping that one day she will be able to wear it herself and remember all the wonderful times we have had and will continue to have together!

Forever my first dad watch!

I have a lot of affection for my Q Timex. Its case is very successful: it is vintage, but the polished-brushed also gives it a modern side. In addition, it is well made considering the price. The bracelet is in the same spirit even if, sometimes, it will like to pull out a hair or two. I appreciate that it adapts as well to a casual look as to a more urban and worked one. Mine is a Peanuts 70th Anniversary edition. There is Snoopy wedged at 6 o'clock which brings this touch of lightness and even today he makes me smile. In short, it is a nice and inexpensive watch but which will always find its place in a collection.
