The main criterion that led to my purchase is this incredible "linen canvas" dial but it is not the only asset of this watch. It is very thin and therefore very pleasant to wear. The day can be displayed in English or in kanji. The applique logos (Seiko & Lord matic) bring relief, as well as the indexes. There is great Seiko in this Seiko. A great treat for not much money (300 euros on Chrono 24).

superb dial, very thin case, for a very sexy price

This is the BR V2 92 steel heritage model with the tropical rubber strap. A military-style watch, very readable. The cream color of the hands and indexes gives a nice vintage look. I love the delta wing-shaped second hand base (looks like the wing of the Mirage 2000 with its single engine). The window is very discreet thanks to its black background and its small size. The watch is very flat and its rubber strap is very comfortable to wear.

I bought this hefty piece (it's quite heavy) in the early 2000s. I don't wear it on my wrist anymore, but I still carry it in my heart :) because it brings back memories of a particular period in my life. Maybe I'll wear it again someday. It still looks great, it's very legible, the sunburst dial is beautiful, and the crystal that follows the curve of the case is a nice touch...that's it, I want to wear it again!

I was looking for a fairly robust, waterproof to 200m minimum, stylish and with a budget of less than 900 euros. I went to my favorite watch jeweler (Mr. Medard in Versailles) who then introduced me to this incredible and fairly exclusive model because it is an edition intended for the US market only. The dial reproduces the scales of a sea turtle. The variations in color and texture of the dial are captivating. The only small downside is the not great precision of the movement (30 seconds per day is starting to be a lot) .. despite its diameter of 45 mm it is easy to wear and is very comfortable.

Sea turtle SRPH55: an incredible dial

When I bought (second-hand) this omega ref 3590.50.00 tritium from 1996, the price was still reasonable compared to a sub from the same period. The patina of the tritium indexes is superb with its eggshell color. The watch is versatile and can be dressed with multiple bracelets that make it either dressy or sporty. The original bracelet is also beautifully made even if the clasp is a bit archaic today. Despite an announced diameter of 42mm, the moonwatch is perfect for a small wrist and very comfortable.

The Oyster Perpetual is an iconic watch. Very simple, with a perfectly refined design, it is the ideal watchmaking ally in many situations. I chose this model (ref 114200) for its super original color with the olive dial and orange index markers. It is one of the watches that I wear the most, it is incredibly comfortable and very precise. I love it. I have tried several bracelets but I always come back to the Oyster which sublimates it to perfection.

What can I say about this watch whose diameter is the largest in my collection: 45mm? Well Seiko are magicians. They managed to make me wear a "big" watch even though I have a chicken wrist! It really sits perfectly on my wrist. In terms of precision, I have it and wear it almost every day - it moves forward 5 seconds / day which is very very good!! On the other hand, the quality of the steel seems very low because I bumped into a door and a big scratch on one of the horns appeared. With a little elbow grease and sandpaper (grain 240 then 1000 then 3000) I managed to erase this ugly mark made at work and which would not have reminded me of a good memory. I am very satisfied with this watch with its vintage look, I quickly got the black strap because it was too big and I ordered the Seiko strap from the SRPE99k1 which suits it very well. The bezel turns perfectly but does not seem as qualitative as some other watches that I have been able to test but better than the SKX
The lume is also a great strength of Seiko and this is confirmed with this watch on which I have no trouble reading the time in the morning in the dark.


A Ninja Turtle

It's been over 15 years since I fell in love with watches. Working in design, I'm drawn to the idea of function harmoniously blending with the aesthetics and form of a timepiece.

The year it was reissued, I fell in love with this model and still do. Bold, functional, legible, with day, date, and time, and a practical dive bezel for timing without the sophistication of a chronograph that would make it seem too "precious," it's also beautifully finished with variations in the case treatment (polished and brushed).

It's accompanied me to business meetings and on hikes alike. It's a real workhorse that I don't hesitate to take everywhere.

It was my first "real" automatic watch (after Vostok watches) and holds a special place in my collection; I adore it.

The Tank

Looking for a watch for my 25th birthday, I crossed the threshold of the Seiko boutique in Paris to try on watches. Being very attracted by the shape of the Seiko Turtle case, I tried on several versions: I had a real crush when I put this model on my wrist, which contains all the characteristics of a great Seiko model. The textured gray dial, its "patina" indexes and its green woven strap completely blew me away. From a technical point of view, it is also very reliable and accompanied me during a scuba dive: the readability of the indexes and the clicking of the bezel are excellent. The only flaw: the precision of the movement, which is not always top-notch. I really enjoy wearing it!

A long-time fan of Apocalypse Now, then of watchmaking... and curious about the Seiko universe, I said to myself here is a watch model that I would like! Time passes, other watches, then one day on Pascal Karp's website: a Willard, in excellent condition (not looking chewed by a pit bull, as often), from my year of birth (1976) sold at a very reasonable price by a professional that I appreciate and in whom I have complete confidence: BINGO! Delivered in a few days, love at first sight confirmed! I order from Uncle Seiko in the USA the appropriate bracelet (reissue that goes well, the originals are expensive and unreliable...). I wear it occasionally, I want to keep it as is and I consider its mechanism quite fragile (extraction of the crown, precision far from COSC standards), but what emotion on the wrist!!!

Pure Seiko, with qualities and defects characteristic of the brand.
The points that make you wince? The hardlex glass when you would like a sapphire, the movement of a very relative precision, the bracelet that gently smells of junk, without forgetting the misaligned bezel…
But hey, all this must be put into perspective with the advantages offered for the price, in particular incredible comfort for a watch of this size, it is also there that the bracelet takes its revenge by perfectly hugging the wrist, smoothly. The reduced lug-to-lug distance and the cushion case make it my most pleasant big watch to wear, only the significant weight is a handicap in this respect. The movement also has its say, not very refined but inspiring total confidence, a good tractor as they say. The sparkling luminescence is also there, as on any good Diver's of the brand.
In the end, one of my favorite watches… while I did not like the model too much before! The softness of the colours of this limited edition “Blue Lagoon” won me over, the intrinsic qualities of the watch finished convincing me.
