Niko's review on his Sartory Billard SB10

I just received my SB10 Black Sapphire, and the impact lives up to expectations: it's incredibly beautiful, even more impressive in person than in the studio photos. What immediately strikes you is the complete absence of hands and the large smoked sapphire cabochon that replaces the dial. The interplay with light is magical: the sapphire allows glimpses of the mechanical architecture through its transparency while maintaining a very mysterious, almost architectural feel. Mechanically speaking, the hour jump at 6 o'clock is perfectly crisp (thanks to the patented module based on the La Joux-Perret movement). Legibility is excellent thanks to the oversized numerals, and the minute track, which orbits the dial, gives an incredibly fluid feel. Special mention goes to the Super-LumiNova ring at night; the turquoise halo effect is striking. The case's alternating polished and brushed finishes are impeccable, and the watch sits perfectly on the wrist. Sartory Billard proves its mastery of independent design once again. A huge favorite, this unique piece!
