My Seiko SKX013 is a true favorite. It's with it that I developed my love for diving watches. Its first asset is undoubtedly its compact 38mm diameter, perfect for my 16cm wrist. The second is that it's a true diver's watch, water-resistant to 200m, so I can dive into the water with my eyes closed.
My SKX dates from 1997, almost at the launch of the SKX range in 1996. Its indexes and hands, weathered by time, won me over at first glance!

I really fell in love with the Grands Fonds MN64 Heterium model, which has a gradient blue dial that changes color throughout the day depending on the ambient light. The steel bracelet is comfortable and perfect for summer because its extension adapts to the movements of the wrist.

I bought this Omega Speedmaster Mark II (ref. 327.10.43.50.01.001) in 2023, somewhat on impulse, drawn to its retro look and strong personality. And ever since... it hasn't left my side.

From the first glance, I knew it was different. The cushion-shaped case, all brushed steel, solid yet elegant, immediately took me back to the 1970s, to a time when watchmaking was bold. And yet, everything inside is modern. The Co-Axial movement is a marvel of precision and fluidity. You can tell this watch is built to last.

What I love about it is that it doesn't try to copy the Moonwatch. It has its own style. And yet, it remains a Speedmaster, with all the history, heritage, and legitimacy that implies.

I've worn it while traveling, during casual moments, and in my everyday life, and it always fits in naturally. It catches the eye, but subtly. It's not a "bling" watch; it's a watch that speaks to those in the know.

In a word? Authentic.
And for me, that's what makes all the difference.

A Speedmaster apart, with a real soul

The C-02 Héritage nobat piqued my interest because the brand's offices are just a few blocks from mine. As a dive watch enthusiast and a keen observer of their history, the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms really spoke to me, and Akrone was open about its inspiration. Along with the release of the Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms, it was a no-brainer to get closer to this model with its France Ebauche movement.
After trying the watch on their premises, I placed an order a few weeks later and came to pick it up. Two very enjoyable moments, with people talking about their passion for watches, the history of their brand, and their work. We didn't keep track of the time; it was very informative.
The watch itself is very distinctive; it makes no secret of its status as a tool watch. So far, it's the most expensive watch they've sold, due to the movement stamped into the case. It's very present on the wrist, not so much for its diameter (41mm), but for its thickness (14.4mm), mainly due to the domed glass.
Its fully brushed case currently bears no marks, despite wearing it almost every weekday.
It's solid, precise, has character, and is from Nantes! Perfect? Not in every way.
After the honeymoon period, you always find little things to criticize. If I had to name them, they would be the straps without much added value, the metal is too bulky and the rubber a bit coarse, the balls are truly enormous.
I put a black Tropic from Joseph Bonnie on it and voila, it was perfect!
The lume is really not its strong point; it's not powerful and doesn't last very long.
We can also criticize the hands, which look a bit cheap and are too long, hiding the track, and are less easy to adjust because of the domed glass. An important piece of information that wasn't on their website: it's self-winding, but unidirectional, meaning the watch is wound only in one direction. This causes a loud noise from the balance wheel as it spins in a vacuum. Personally, I like it!
This is my daily watch during the week and it's set to +1.5 seconds per day, which is perfect.
I'm patiently waiting for the new 39mm C-02s, which will be released in summer 2025! A silver-plated steel case, a black dial, a not-too-domed crystal, a crown protector, perhaps simpler, less technical straps, and a thickness of around 11mm—it would be perfection.

The only real GMT owned, acquired when the ceramic Pepsi was not yet available for sale, I would prefer the jubilee today, why? these mirror-polished central links... a daily disaster as the slightest scratches appear, then the mirror polish on the bracelet, yes... in new stock photos! To return to our GMT, this one is water-resistant to 100m like most Rolexes, an impeccable finish, COSC precision at the rendezvous, a watch that fits well, is discreet with its 40mm, a pretty versatile and somewhat flashy piece.

Bright!

A legendary watch from Rolex as well as from the world of watchmaking, this new version of the GMT MASTER II called Batgirl brings a slight touch of exoticism with the blue of the hand and the bezel while remaining much more discreet than the Pepsi or Sprite version. To be moderated however, because although wiser than the other two references, it inevitably attracts benevolent glances or not ... 

Indeed, with the multiplication of aggression problems, it can be difficult to wear depending on its geographical location. 
It is all the more unfortunate that the Jubilee bracelet ensures great comfort to the point of almost forgetting that you have the watch on your wrist. 
Still concerning the bracelet, the Easylink adjustment system is also well thought out and allows you to adjust the watch on the fly in summer. 

In short, it is a perfect Rolex to be worn both casually and sporty chic but you have to be aware that it is a source of covetousness for both enthusiasts and thieves.

The wisest of the GMT MASTER II

Perfect size and bracelet for my small wrist. The dialog between the black, the grey and the gold works beautifully. Perfect step before the full gold version that is too dressy for my taste. It's my daily watch now, and I can't wear anything else. I am always with t-shirt and jeans and this absolutely elegant watch works perfectly with my sporty style. I got it at the airport, the place in which I had many traumas as a child due to immigration and exile. Getting this watch is for me the sign of a new area of my life.

My favorite Rolex watch: the GMT Master II. I waited three years for it, and I finally bought it in Geneva, five years to the day after my Hublot—almost to the date. At the time, the wait had somewhat dampened the flavor… but as soon as it was on my wrist, the pleasure returned. A gem. The Jubilee bracelet is absolutely comfortable, the finish is perfect. Nothing to complain about.

Three years for this… and it was worth it

The one that started it all. My first watch, the one I bought myself at 33 and wore for 10 years without stopping, in all circumstances, without any desire to replace it. The one that would remain if I had to keep only one. The aviator, the Pan Am legend since 1954. The most precise of all. And those blue and red bezel colors that change over the years and that I will never tire of. I have always preferred Pepsi to Coke!

Rolex GMT MASTER II ref 16710 - 

The Rolex GMT-Master II reference 116710 LN was introduced in 2007, this model features a black Cerachrom ceramic bezel, a 40mm stainless steel case, a date function, as well as the iconic ability to track multiple time zones. The “LN” in the model number stands for “Lunette Noir”, indicating the black bezel. Its production continued until around 2019, when it was discontinued and replaced by new models. It represents a specific era in Rolex history.
