On paper, the specs are already very solid: a dependable automatic movement, 200 meters of water resistance, and a sapphire crystal – the essentials you’d expect in a serious tool watch. But what sets this Defender apart is the case. The forged carbon case isn’t just for show – it gives the watch a lightweight feel while still retaining a sense of toughness. The fact that RGMT went the extra mile to make the case fully luminous is a fantastic touch. When the lights go down, the watch transforms: the case, hands, and indices all glow with a vibrant energy. The metallic green bezel is another highlight. It complements the forged carbon perfectly and adds just enough color to make the watch stand out, without pushing it into overly flashy territory. Paired with the matte green silicone strap, the whole package feels cohesive and very wearable. Legibility is excellent – large Arabic numerals, bold hands, and strong lume application ensure the watch is as functional as it is striking. It’s the kind of piece that looks equally at home in the outdoors as it does in an enthusiast’s collection. BUT The 43mm size and the somewhat ‘louder’ dial design might not be to everyone’s taste and could be pointed out as negative aspect – but if that’s what you enjoy, this is a fantastic watch At this price point, the Defender offers a solid value. You’re getting a limited edition watch with non standard materials, a special design, and very capable specifications.
