I've had this watch since noon!

And I'm thrilled with this purchase. I was hesitating between this one and the blue 5303 this summer, with which it shares some real differences but also some similarities in its approach to a sporty and distinguished watch.
This one really offers a lot for the price. I absolutely wanted a lapis lazuli dial, after considering aventurine. I find this stone dial very interesting. Often dark and muted, and sometimes radiant in the sunlight, a deep and vivid Klein blue, marked by the texture of the golden pyrite. Sometimes calm and docile, sometimes sparkling and sunny.

I find it very comfortable to wear, the lugs fall perfectly, and I aesthetically prefer this mk1 model with its sportier, more vintage hands and its more authentic shape. Well, for the record, I had decided on the 5303 this summer, but it was only a matter of time before this one finally arrived, the opportunity did the rest.

The most stylish of sports watches

This watch is a tiny, rather playful piece of horology. I bought it on eBay about ten years ago for €50 new, arriving in cheap packaging with a questionable leather strap. Once I removed this unnecessary packaging and fitted a decent strap, this quite charming watch accompanied me on several holidays, allowing me to avoid focusing on the precise time or worrying about damaging it, given its value. It allows you to disconnect while remaining a nice, mechanical, and manual object. One small quirk: since I bought it, once fully wound, you have to tap it on a hard surface to start the ticking. It has always worked well apart from this detail, which, actually, I quite like.

All in all, it shows that for a few euros, you can have something original, with a strong personality, that's wearable every day without looking out of place.

The poor man's single needle

I think I wear a watch for what it says about me. It says a lot without saying a word:

- Someone who wears a Serica has undoubtedly been genuinely interested in watches at some point.

- This person appreciates well-made, practical, robust watches of high quality.

I am that person. This watch has become a staple in my collection; it's my only dive watch, and for a fraction of the price of other watches, it possesses a certain refinement that others lack.

Just one small point about the Milanese mesh clasp: be careful not to fiddle with it too much, as the folded metal can bend if you try to pry it open. It's fine as long as the watch is on your wrist, but beware of those who take their watches off in meetings to play with them.

The chic diver

This watch means a lot to me! It's a new step in my collection. I wanted a beautiful, well-made watch that would accompany me in many moments and that would mark memories, like the birth of my daughter.
This watch is less demonstrative than others in my collection. I could have taken a spring drive or a hi-beat from Grand Seiko, a more worked dial or special metals. But at the end of the equation, this was the most obvious: 37mm, pure and balanced case, impeccable finishes and especially this play of light between the dial and indexes/hands. On the wrist, this watch appears like a retouched photo, as if the contrast had been increased a little too much to be realistic. The zaratsu polishing, the sky dial, almost gray, play with the light, and it is as if the coating of the dial and the 12 mirrors were arguing over which would be most enhanced by the slightest ray of light.
Inevitably very discreet, it is a great satisfaction for me to wear a watch that no one calculates, of which I am the only one to fully enjoy the subtlety. It is for me a new discovery of luxury: to take the watch that we like, regardless of the price and the hype. I was ready to take a more technical, advanced watch... but it seemed to me the most accomplished, in a disconcerting simplicity of which Grand Seiko sometimes has the secret.

Kishun: The Spring Sky

A cold, sad watch hungry for information since it only gives the time, and even then, only if you make the effort to wind it at least every two days, otherwise it will run out of steam and stop. 19mm strap, not at all practical to change it… And then one day you put it on your wrist. And the magic happens. Silver dial playing with the light, transparent back that lets you see the small caliber without pretensions but home made in Glashutte, it sits very well on the wrist and is both dressed and slender. Very refined, it is simple without being simplistic, chic without being shocking, it comes back to the essentials of what I expect from a watch, the little grain of madness or warmth less perhaps…

German rigor

This watch is really the one that gave me the passion I have today. It was the first time I really admired something in a display case. I found the shape so original, linked to aeronautics which particularly touches me. The contrast of white on black, the industrial aspect with its brushed case and screws, and its complications which are rather rare! A power reserve, and a large date, which are probably the most useful complications in all of watchmaking. It's quite pragmatic... I bought it for my 25th birthday with the few savings I had put aside. It's clear that when I look at it, I think back to that moment and all the good occasions when I had the pleasure of wearing it. Today it is a little bigger than my current standards with its 42 mm, but it is my tool watch, and by far the watch that gets the most attention.

From the cockpit to the wrist

The brand Nivada Grenchen was created in 1926 by Otto Wullimann, Hermann Schlindler and Jacob Schneider in Grenchen (Granges) in Switzerland with the ambition of offering reliable and precise watches at an affordable price. Some will see a Royal Oak like and they will be right! it is undeniable the attractions of this watch that we can compare. However it is a reissue of the 70s, from Nivada, superbly faithful.
The impeccable finishes, undoubtedly a downside on the bracelet and the endlink, otherwise it is very comfortable
Be careful with the dimensions of the small because indeed it is given for 37mm in diameter, but me who wears a big watch it is very good, so be careful with the small chicken wrist.
And finally it remains to talk about the dial ... or rather no I let you admire the reflections and gradients, a killer that make it a very special watch.

NIVADA F77 Smoked Blue

I wanted to complete my "Watch dressing" and my beautiful divers with a more chic and discreet watch.
Nivada, a brand that will soon be a hundred years old, reissued this F77 at the beginning of the year, released as its name suggests in 1977, adding a few touches to bring it up to date without denying its origins.
The result is a beautiful 37 mm Swiss watch with a seventies style, mostly discreet brushed, highlighted by a few magnificent polished chamfers.
My F77 with this very "playful" braided blue dial is a marvel of chic sport from a historic and geeky brand.
I chose it without a date unlike the 1977 model which had a day and date window for personal taste. The soprod movement is not the smoothest when winding but incredibly precise to my great surprise (it loses less than 2s per day on my model) 
In addition, it has been reworked to avoid the ghost position of the date, which is appreciable. 
In short, it's a love story with this comfortable and super light F77.

The 70s in funky and elegant mode

I was looking for a watch with an ice blue / sky blue dial, but after some disappointments following purchases on photo I discovered this F77 SMOKED BLUE with a textured dial. 
I was immediately seduced by the photos but without being able to try it. This time I was not disappointed, this watch is much more beautiful "in real life" than in the photo. Its dial associated with its sport chic case are magnificent! The domed glass and its finesse add even more elegance to this model. 
I use it as a "dress" watch when my divers don't fit under the shirt.

Gorgeous 

Nivada F77 Titanium Meteorite:
Vintage design and modern technology for a perfect alliance.
I tried to photograph this dial as best I could to be able to show as accurately as possible all the reflections it takes in the light; we look at it endlessly.
Grade 5 titanium brings lightness, comfort to wear but also, with its subtle gray tint, a beautiful aesthetic harmony with the dial.
It is also "warmer" than steel, difficult to explain for me, it is my first titanium watch.
The case is very well finished with an alternation of polished and brushed, special mention for the well-aligned screws.
I have a large wrist (19.5 cm before the red wine) and I find that this 37 mm sits rather well, according to my tastes of course.
Negative point, because you always need some to improve: there is a small space between the case and the beginning of the bracelet.
In conclusion, for me it is the best watch with an integrated bracelet in its price category, unique with this tapered/striated dial specific to the meteorite that I never tire of.

Titanium/meteorite alliance

Already owning a blue F77, I absolutely wanted this full titanium version with a meteorite dial, so magnificent in photos and more universal than the blue version.
In real life, it's just as beautiful as in the photos, but I realize it's very difficult to photograph because of its reflections. Visually splendid, it's like photographing a mirror—not easy.
The time is very legible, even if its limited luminescence doesn't last at night. This isn't its intended purpose, but it's a feature I love and means this F77 isn't my everyday watch. I reserve it for dressy outfits; it fits perfectly under a shirt despite its magnificent domed crystal.
The titanium and meteorite blend perfectly in the gray and matte black tones.
In terms of precision, it's standard, in line with my other watches.
I find the clasp a little thick, not really in keeping with the overall elegance of the watch.
