How I Got the Watch At first, I was looking at some of the usual suspects — the Royal Oak, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, even some pieces from Chopard. But then I came across Czapek, and honestly, I was hooked right away. The brand’s slogan “We collect rare people” really spoke to me. I got quite lucky with this one. A dealer I know well still had “one left,” so I didn’t have to wait as long as most people do. Normally, with Czapek, things work a little differently. Their watches are made to order, which means that once you place an order, your watch is actually being built for you — not just allocated. In my case, I waited about six months, which is much better than the usual two-year waiting time. When the watch finally arrived, I couldn’t have been happier. Communication with Czapek during the process was excellent. I actually had a small issue with customs since the watch came directly from Switzerland, and the customs office didn’t handle things properly. But Czapek immediately stepped in and took care of everything. That experience alone showed how much the brand cares about its customers. First Impressions & Packaging The packaging is beautiful — refined, well thought out, and feels premium in every way. Everything inside gives you the impression that this is something special. I really liked that they include the tools to size the bracelet yourself or swap to the rubber strap. And when I finally had it on my wrist, it was instantly clear — this is not just another luxury sports watch. This is something with soul. Specifications Model: Czapek Antarctique Variant: Glacier Blue Case: Stainless Steel Diameter: 40.5 mm Thickness: approx. 10.6 mm Lug-to-Lug: 45 mm Movement: Czapek Caliber SXH5 (In-house micro-rotor automatic) Power Reserve: 60 hours Water Resistance: 120 m Bracelet: Integrated stainless steel bracelet with double folding clasp and micro-adjustment Dial: Glacier Blue with 3D texture effect Origin: Swiss Made The Movement – The Heart of the Watch Without question, the movement is the centerpiece of this watch. The Czapek SXH5 is stunning — it blends contemporary engineering with traditional haute horlogerie finishing. It’s open, architectural, and beautifully decorated. It’s almost too beautiful, to the point where it outshines the dial. Everyone I show the watch to ends up turning it around to stare at the movement. And honestly, I can’t blame them. Dial & Design I went for the Glacier Blue version — and this dial is just mesmerizing. It has this unique sense of depth, almost three-dimensional, even though it’s technically flat. The color shifts with the light, going from icy blue to a soft steel tone. The case proportions are spot on. At 40.5 mm with a slim profile, it sits perfectly on the wrist. The finishing is razor sharp, the transitions are crisp, and the integration of the bracelet is beautifully executed. Comfort & Bracelet The integrated steel bracelet looks fantastic and complements the design perfectly. The clasp offers two micro-adjustments, which is a nice touch for daily wear. That said, if I’m being honest, the bracelet is probably the only area where there’s still room for improvement. It’s beautifully made, but in terms of feel on the wrist, it doesn’t quite match the latest Rolex Submariner bracelet. Just a small detail — but worth mentioning. Conclusion The Czapek Antarctique Glacier Blue is not a watch for people chasing brand prestige or recognition. It’s a watch for true enthusiasts — for those who genuinely love fine watchmaking. It’s modern, elegant, technically impressive, and full of emotion. And the best part is that only those who really know watches will recognize it. If you want something rare, personal, and made with passion, this is it. Czapek represents genuine craftsmanship and sincerity — and the price, while high, feels completely justified once it’s on your wrist. A watch that doesn’t shout, but quietly impresses.
