Citizen Owner Review : Comfortable, pleasant and classic

This is a discreet Japanese import model, "JDM," in terms of its shape, size, and color, but I really like its well-balanced proportions: the 38mm diameter suits my narrow wrist perfectly (the lugs don't protrude); the 10.5mm thickness is pleasing to the eye and comfortable to wear... it's quite slim for an automatic at this price. The dimensions of the bezel, crown, and lugs are, in my opinion, well-proportioned to the rest of the watch. All of this gives it a classic and pleasing look, if not particularly original or whimsical. You could even say the design is inspired by certain classic Rolex or Seiko models. As for the details, what I appreciate are the beautifully finished and polished chamfers on the lugs, the beveled, faceted, and polished hour markers that shine in all directions, and the light silver sunburst opalescent dial, which is very attractive in the light, even though it appears white from a distance, but it isn't. The only things I don't particularly like are the date window's frame, which isn't as well finished as the rest of the watch, and the hands, which look too much like a Datejust... I would have preferred them with more character. For the price, you get a very well-finished and slim automatic watch, very comfortable to wear, and which goes well with many different straps. I swapped the steel strap (well-finished but a bit thick and heavy) for a natural leather one, which gives it an even more classic/sporty/elegant look, if that's what you're into.
