Tissot PRX digital, 40 mm. I bought it about ten days ago and almost left a review immediately. That would have been a mistake, given the initial rush. The quartz movement/price ratio seemed unfair, especially since the functions are so basic! But then, as the days went by, the perceived quality, the comfort, and its certain elegance made me change my mind...or almost. Why PRX? Is the brand solid enough to create a different design and name? Given the success of the original model, I understand the continuation. This model is just as heavy as the automatic version. The readability is good. An important detail: the discount applied at the time of purchase. I wouldn't have bought it at full price. A good buy nonetheless.

What can I say...Given the "thickness" of the Citizen group, they can afford to release models like this.
Titanium case, solar quartz movement, calfskin strap for around 180 euros with the sales...The latter is heavier than the case!
Lightness, readability, reliability, water resistance...I got the all-blue model, which is as pretty as it is discreet.
In the morning, don't want to wind an automatic? It's always available; it's comfortable.
The only downside is the small size of the date/day window, which isn't very legible. No big deal.
Too perfect? No, just ideal for everyday reading.

Do as I do, wear a...

Codhor watch, from the 80s, bought less than 10 years ago in NOS condition on eBay...about 36 mm in diameter, hand-wound...never serviced, keeps time perfectly with a power reserve of about 40 hours!!!...You have to wonder if you should spend more?!...fortunately there is something else, than the utilitarian side, in the passion for watches...I rarely wear it but I am happy to own one in this condition, it reminds me of another era with this famous ad.

Swatch Obsidian Shimmer, 40 mm
Very flat metal case, metal pin buckle, very supple silicone strap. Very comfortable and very readable. Its dial could be mesmerizing. No lume for nighttime use, which is a shame. No second hand, extremely silent. Impulse purchase at a price (€215) that I find excessive for such a watch.

A silent but expensive Swatch...

A pleasant watch for summer. As light as a plastic Swatch! Its gray color is unique due to the transparent case back, which reveals the mechanism. It's easy to read with its blue indexes and red hands. The strap is very flexible, which is pleasant. I own a few Swatch watches, and this is by far the loudest... a real 80s alarm clock!!! Irreplaceable for keeping accurate time every day.

Light, readable, precise...but noisy!

It reminds me of watches from the 80s, the Camel Trophy, especially the bezel. Personally, I wouldn't wear it for canyoning, hiking, or any other dynamic activity; G-Shock does better. But for everyday use or for a discovery trip, it will do the job perfectly. It exudes quality. From the moment you wind it manually, you can feel the solidity of the mechanism. Perfect readability, 3 hands... the basics. The strap is good, the stitching ensures good strength, even during a stay in humid areas, you won't risk losing the case (experience...). The motor is excellent, with an 80-hour power reserve, which is comfortable. The only downside is the design of the pin buckle, which is square and doesn't really match. I was just saying something! During this sales period, it remains very interesting as an impulse purchase!!!

Citizen Promaster Land, 42 mm diameter, solar... I replaced the metal bracelet with a natural rubber one that suits it terribly well. It's a model without a back! So if there's a problem I think sending it to Citizen will be essential. Steel case finish with screwed crown, water-resistant to 200 m... it's a bit heavy but remains a really practical model. In addition, the luminous coating on the hands/Indexes is efficient.

A top tool watch

I know that I tend to get overly enthusiastic when it comes to watches, especially when it concerns one that I own, and even more so when it's only been a few days and the "honeymoon" is in full swing. It's first of all very practical, and then it's also a way of closing the door to less positive first impressions, to "meh" and "meh", it reassures me that the purchase is justified, justifiable and judicious. But this time, perhaps more than ever, I feel like I've found the right shoe for me like rarely before. For once, a little context: I'm a fan of "first times"; Every watch I buy for a while is supposed to give me a first experience, even if it is as far-fetched as a "first watch with both a blue lume and less than 18mm thick while being water-resistant to more than 4000m". For this Promaster, it brought together a certain number of firsts for me and not the least: first Citizen, first Eco-drive, first titanium, first with perpetual calendar, first screw-down crown, first radio-controlled... You can always find some. I scoured the web for several months, looking for feedback, tests, information. The model being JDM, it took me a little more effort to get it, but nothing insurmountable either. First of all, and contrary to what its "face" suggests, the dimensions are very reasonable, with 39mm in diameter for only 45mm from lug to lug. On my wrist, which is not very big at 16.5cm, it is perfect visually and in terms of comfort. But even more than the horizontal dimensions, it is the height and especially the very low, compact profile of the watch that reduces the boil effect and visually helps to place it perfectly on the wrist. The slightly domed sapphire brings a touch of softness and roundness, while the thin black PVD bezel reaffirms the sporty side of the watch. Originally mounted on a 3-link titanium bracelet which, once adjusted, is incredibly comfortable, the sensation on the wrist is quite disconcerting and enjoyable in the first hours of wearing it. Its presence emanates both an image of a beater and a sportswoman, but without totally obscuring a certain class (I hardly exaggerate). The dial does not bother with frills and has one of the most durable lumes I know. It can spend more than 9 hours in absolute darkness without it being complicated to read the time at first glance when waking up. The H100 caliber is therefore a solar quartz given for an accuracy of -/+15s/month, it has a perpetual calendar and the radio-controlled function. The latter reserves the watch for Japan (in theory) because it only picks up Japanese antennas. Thanks to this function, the watch synchronizes every night with the Fukushima antenna to maintain an accuracy set to the atomic clock. As this is a JDM model, synchronization requires a little technological gymnastics via an app to be able to work in France, but nothing really complicated once you have the knack and a pair of headphones. What is a little longer and tedious is the manual time setting. Indeed, the crown does not work like on a classic watch. The rotation advances the second hand in one-minute increments. Each minute requires the second hand to make a complete turn. Even if turning it twice in a row allows it to advance by itself until reaching the correct setting, if you need to advance or go back 12 hours for the first time setting, allow a good 20 minutes in front of you. The same goes for setting the perpetual calendar, it is better to get the user guide for the caliber if you do not want to see your February have 31 days or your July only 29. The advantage of this solar is that it is part of these "set & forget watches", and you will not touch it again until the next time change. In terms of other specs to know, the water resistance is 200m, the case back is screwed and the bracelet has 3 micro-adjustment positions without tools. The second hand is one of the most beautiful I own, the dagger as a counterweight as well as the long yellow "sword" give a slightly funky pep to this serious and otherwise functional dial. I've only had it for a few days but I'm convinced and delighted like rarely before.
