I'd been eyeing a Jalaper watch for a long time, especially their first model (DB5), being an Aston Martin fan! Working in Brussels, I'd visited their store several times, but this watch never made it onto my shortlist. Then, in October 2025, they offered their subscribers a remarkable deal that finally convinced me to buy it. It took two months to receive it (the watches are made to order), and I must say the service was impeccable: same-day email replies, a small gift to apologize for the delay—in short, it's a major plus. However, the most important thing is how it looks on: this watch is magnificent when I'm not wearing it, and beautiful when I am. Let me explain. The case is 40.5 mm, a reasonable size for a 19.5 cm wrist. Nevertheless, it looks smaller (39 mm) than it actually is. This could be a good thing, but not in this case. I've rarely had this feeling with a watch, and yet I own others with smaller diameters. Speaking of the case, the polished/satin finishes, the quality of the dial, etc., are all impeccable. The movement is a Miyota with a verified deviation of +/- 5-10 seconds per day (I wore it for a month), so kudos to the team for the adjustment. It's worth noting that the crown isn't exactly ergonomic... unlike Aston Martins ;-). So why not be happier? Because this watch loves to catch the light (literally) to truly reveal itself, and on the wrist, it's harder to capture the light than when held in the hand. In my opinion, that's its flaw. So, if you buy it, wear it first. Overall, I think I'll only wear it a few times, on specific occasions with real pleasure, but it won't be my everyday watch in 2026.
